SCT’s goal is to make theatre fun and accessible to our audience.

We’re not highbrow. We’re not flashy. We are proud to give Mammoth’s talented and artistic locals the opportunity to share their love of theatre. Sierra Classic Theatre emphasizes the “classics” (often Pulitzer-Prize or Tony-winning plays) because they are well-written, beautiful, thought-provoking works. They can stand alone in their impact they’ll have on you! Our mission as a non-profit theatre company is to give the community the opportunity to experience such beautiful work for ourselves.

Sierra Classic Theatre was founded in 1999. While we are primarily located in Mammoth Lakes, CA, we have also offered shows in the surrounding, Eastern Sierra communities. We are supported with volunteer effort, both on- and off-stage, and our primary financing for our productions is through our annual Murder Mystery dinner (a “local’s favorite”) in the Fall as well as with our $5 suggested donation for our outdoor, Summer “Shakespeare in the Woods” event.
